Direct Business Assistance
NYIRN provides direct business assistance to over 500 companies a year, primarily around real estate issues, but also on topics as varied as marketing, tax benefits and energy assistance. NYIRN manages an online database of over 150 real estate listings on its website. NYIRN NEWS, a monthly e-newsletter, highlights services and programs that benefit NYC manufacturers.

Food From New York
FFNY provides a comprehensive set of services including marketing, technology, and real estate assistance to help specialty (particularly ethnic) food companies expand and create jobs. Specific programs include: Ask-A-Food-Industry-Expert, marketing assistance, energy audits, a quarterly newsletter and a matchmaking service to help companies share space and distribution operations. FFNY is supported by a website, www.foodfromnewyork.org.

Made In NYC
The Made In NYC initiative encourages businesses to purchase goods made in New York City, stimulating demand and job growth in the manufacturing sector. NYIRN released the report, Building Green, to highlight the importance of procuring locally made materials in green building construction. The program includes an online business-to-business database, www.madeinnyc.org, and a service to locate manufacturers not already listed on the website. To date, over 680 companies have registered.

Renewable NY
Renewable NY is a collaboration between NYIRN and several renewable energy partners to assist manufacturers to reduce their energy demand and costs by utilizing renewable and clean energy sources. The program involves an energy audit and implementation of energy-efficient lighting, solar, cogeneration and/or other energy systems at no upfront cost to the manufacturer. Zoning for Jobs
Zoning For Jobs is a citywide coalition that seeks to raise public awareness of the important role blue-collar jobs play in the City’s economy and to create new zoning and financing tools that will support industrial jobs. These new tools will create stable industrial areas while also allowing for the development of much needed affordable housing, open space and other amenities.
